Qualification: First Aid at Work (Including AED)
The First aid at work training course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in most workplaces to become a confident first aider at work, giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies.
It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations.
What will I learn?
The content of the course will cover the following:
- The role of the first aider
- Managing an emergency
- Communication and casualty care
- Asthma and severe allergic reaction
- Bleeding (minor & severe)
- Bone, muscle, joint, eye, head and spinal injuries
- Burns and scalds
- Chest pains (inc. heart attack)
- Choking, fainting and shock
- Health and safety regulations
- Low blood sugar
- Seizures and stroke
- Unresponsive casualty
Are there any entry requirements?
- There are no pre-requisites for this qualification.
How long with my qualification be valid for?
The qualification will be valid for 3 years, although the HSE recommends that first aiders attend annual refresher training to help maintain basic skills and keep up to date with any changes to first aid procedures.
