The purpose of this qualification is to provide learners with awareness of safeguarding procedures appropriate to their job role and, where appropriate, the ability to implement sufficient safeguarding procedures to safeguard and protect children.
What will I learn?
• Pathway 1 – An awareness of safeguarding and protecting children – Suitable for those with no or minimal contact with children and no responsibility for instruction,
• Pathway 2 – A basic understanding of safeguarding and protecting children – Suitable for potential supervised contact with children and providing instruction
• Pathway 3 – A strategic understanding of safeguarding and protecting children – Suitable for managerial/board/senior level of employment or role with responsibility for recruitment decisions

Learners must be 16+ at the point of certification.
